Role Purpose

2nd & 3rd line desktop support to end user systems & hardware peripherals.
You will be a team player with a flexible approach to working, also supporting site installations, moves, adds and changes (IMACS). Installation and support for network, fixed and mobile telephony equipment.
This role is primarily based at Farnborough but working away at other sites will be required as requirements dictate.

Key Accountabilities

* Manage the company's response to escalated incidents and investigate remedial action and any preventative maintenance requirements regarding future occurrences.
* Provide desktop & infrastructure support including troubleshooting basic hardware and standard software operating system issues and problems.
* Effective Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis reporting.
* Install and troubleshoot desktops, printers, laptop and other computer peripherals, hardware problems as well as desktop applications.
* Perform computer "Break / Fix" support and installation, add, move or change requirements for peripherals, device drivers and mobile devices
* Perform desk-side support including basic administration of Operating Systems and common off the shelf software systems
* Complete all assigned calls with professionalism and technical expertise, providing quality customer service and support for designated equipment
* Monitor assigned service calls to ensure quality and service level goals are achieved in a timely manner
* Complete all administrative duties including updating of tickets in ITSM toolset.
* Escalate problems to the appropriate next level of support when necessary
* Supporting Audio Video (AV) and Video Conferencing (VC) facilities
* Administration of ITAMS (IT Asset Management System)
* Effective working relationships with operational teams and internal customers
* Ensuring compliance with corporate policies, procedures and work instructions

Desirable Skills/Knowledge

* Proficiency in installing, upgrading, building, repairing, configuring, troubleshooting, diagnosing and preventative maintenance of hardware and infrastructure.
* Superb communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong organisational abilities with good decision-making skills.
* Up to 2 years' direct PC and laptop hardware service experience, with proficiency in desktop support of Client Operating Systems, primarily Windows 7/8/10, office 365, as well as key desktop applications such as Microsoft's Office suite.
* Knowledge of structured Cabling, infrastructure & fault diagnosis.
* Strong customer service ethos.
* Can do attitude.

* Problem ownership Ability to adapt to changing demands and conditions.
* Willing to keep up-to-date and build upon skill and knowledge base.
* Takes responsibility for own development and actively pursues learning and development opportunities.
* Full, clean UK driving license.
