I am recruiting an experienced Flux Core Arc Welder to work with a FTSE 250 Engineering Support Services Organisation in Bristol. This role functions within their Marine and Technology Division which provides vital engineering services to key clients, such as the Royal Navy. As part of the Production function, you will work with the welding engineering department to fully utilise the mechanised welding capability.

Responsibilities

  • Welding of large high strength, quenched and tempered steel assemblies for the defence industry.
  • Welding of assemblies used for lifting and handling.
  • Experience of positional welding using FCAW and solid Wire plus MAG is essential
  • Welds are subject to full NDT including volumetric Ultrasonic and radiographic examination

Required Skills and Experience / Qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship or similar in welding/fabrication
  • Working to high quality standards
  • Capable of reading complex fabrication drawings
  • Lifting and slinging experience and trained is desirable
  • Used to working to tight deadlines
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Experienced working within health and safety boundaries
  • Team player who can work in a close knit team
