Engineering Technical Support Officer - SC Cleared

Background:

Experis are supporting a central government intelligence client with the recruitment for IT Engineering Technical Support Officer. The successful contractor will be responsible for continued installation, maintenance, support and development of the specialist Intelligence engineering system and must have in-depth knowledge of IT hardware, operating systems, virtualized environments and software.

Work Experience:

Responsible for assisting in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support of technical systems to a professional (ITIL certified) standard and to meeting user requirements. It provides assistance in maintaining and upgrading technical systems in line with technical projects and aid the support of technical networks and infrastructure.

Qualification required

  • ITIL Foundation V3

Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of IT hardware, operating systems, virtualized environments and software.

  • In-depth understanding of IT languages, web technologies and software packages.

  • Awareness of new technology.

  • Knowledge of ITIL guidelines

  • Excellent information technology skills in a wide variety of platforms.

  • Analytical skills/ data interpretation skills.

  • Organisational skills.

  • Troubleshooting and methodical fault resolution skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.

  • Interpersonal or customer service skills.

  • IP addressing and subnetting (IPv4 & v6).

Experience:

  • Relevant Infrastructure support and fault diagnosis

  • Proven experience in an IT related field.

  • Experience of effectively working as part of a team

  • Good Knowledge UK Tactical Interception (TI) architectures

  • Understanding of UK Tactical Interception methods and capability

  • Covert telecoms methods and devices used

  • Covert entry and methods and devices used

  • BIP0008

  • SPF and IS1 and 2 and GSC.

  • 5+ years experience of supporting a Windows Server 2008 R2 based network.

  • CISCO Catalyst switch configuration;

  • MS System Centre 2102, specifically MS Hyper-V, Data Protection Manager and Virtual Machine
