Engineering Resource Planner - 6 Months - Nailsea

My client is looking for an experienced Engineering Resource Planner, for an initial 6-month contract with extension beyond this. The client would like someone full time on site, and can offer a competitive daily rate.

Role Summary/Purpose

Drive a consistent, accurate and organised approach to resource planning in Primavera P6, to support operational execution within the SPS and Services engineering team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Both Engineering Resource Planners will report directly to the Engineering Operations Manager, providing tactical support across the following activities:
  • Support SPS and Services engineering product lines with creation and maintenance of resource plans using Primavera P6 tool
  • Analyse resource workload allocation by discipline and location; provide recommendations to optimise resource allocation
  • Establish clear prioritisation of tasks based on critical path activities/project milestones
  • Provide reports to Operations Manager to assist with visibility of utilisation of resource across demand portfolio (Requisition Projects, NPI, other)
  • Engage and collaborate with Operations, PL leaders and Regional Leaders; Controls (PCS) and Services Flow teams

Required Experience / Qualifications:

  • High level of expertise in Primavera P6 planning:
  • ability to create, develop and maintain detailed schedule
  • manage and maintain P6 libraries (role/resources)
  • create/extract reports
  • Practical knowledge of common planning and scheduling terms, techniques and tools
  • Experience working in a dynamic projects or engineering environment
  • Highly organised self-starter who can manage priorities to meet deadlines
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and influencing skills to communicate/interface cross-functionally
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, able to identify key drivers in P6 data sets
  • Proficient using MS Office (particularly Excel)
  • Effective communicator, verbal and written
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving capabilities
