We currently have an opportunity for an Engineer to join our prestigious clients Concession and Defect Investigation Team. To be successful in applying for this position you will:

  • Willing to learn about the management of design defects in one of the world's most complex engineering environments.

This opportunity is on a full-time permanent basis which is primarily based in Keynsham, Bristol. The role will require occasional travel to our customer's site as well as dockyards in Devon and Scotland.

Main Purpose

  • The Concession and Defect Engineer will ensure that the failures and design defects that are identified by the Submarines are captured, processed and investigated such that guidance can be given on the appropriate solutions.
  • To achieve this, the Concession and Defect Engineer will work closely with Ships Staff, relevant Subject Matter Experts, the team and other key stakeholders.

  • IT literate (Microsoft office software).

  • Experience within the Defence Industry and an understanding of MOD working practices.
  • Knowledge of Submarine Systems.
  • An understanding of Submarine Enterprise specific tools such as Maritime Collaborative Working Environment and the SSMG Applications suite.
  • Membership of (or be capable of working towards membership with) a relevant professional Institution.
