My client, a large international electronics manufacturer based in West London, is urgently seeking an EMEA Internal Controls Specialist to join their expanding finance department. This is a 3-month contract role initially, but could turn into a longer term opportunity for the right person. You should ideally be immediately available or on a maximum of 1 week's notice.

You will be instrumental in delivering an efficient and effective Internal Control program for EMEA amongst the regions. The Internal Control team is a commercially focused business partnering team, where your will work in direct contact with key business control managers.

Key duties and responsibilities;

· Perform risk assessment and SOX scoping under guidance of the team lead
· Maintain internal documentation tools and provide training and guidance periodically and as required
· Create and maintain flowcharts, narratives and other documentation support for all activities
· Execute Entity Level Questionnaires, track progress and provide guidance
· Lead control framework updates, review self-assessment, perform independent testing, monthly reporting and management of external auditors
· Participate in business and operational audits; report findings, agreeing remediation plans and track progress
· Participate in ad-hoc projects to enhance the capability of yourself, the team and the function

Required skills and experience;

· ACA qualified accountant from a Big4 practice background
· Strong internal controls, US GAAP and SOX experience
· Experience of managing stakeholders at many levels and locations
· Highly organised with the ability to manage and deliver on multiple assignments
· A modern approach to control frameworks and systems and be comfortable with using new technology to enable automation where appropriate
· Some EMEA travelling is required (roughly 20%)
