My client, a well-known manufacturing company based in West London, is currently seeking an interim Internal Control Director to join them on a 4-6 month contract. You should ideally be immediately available or on a maximum of 1 week's notice.

Job Purpose and Summary

Lead the EMEA internal control and audit function to ensure that our client is reporting in accordance with USGAAP, its operations and internal controls are effective and it complies with all applicable laws and regulations including the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Support the business to ensure key Finance focus area objectives can be achieved.

Responsibilities and Tasks

· Set Internal Control strategy and identify opportunities where the department can support the EMEA region
· Develop the EMEA SOX Internal Control program on modern risk-based principles
· Work with external auditors to ensure an efficient 3rd party assurance program. Participate in audit fee discussions to optimise value
· Implement a risk based cycle of Financial review of EMEA companies and subsidiaries with reference to the standards in USGAAP and the Controllers manual
· Provide early warning of any significant issues to the CFO and top management
· Lead the EMEA enterprise risk management program
· Perform Fraud and Compliance investigations as directed, including those prompted by whistle-blower reports and Internal and External Audit

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Fully qualified accountant from a Big 4 Audit background
· Broad experience of all key financial functions and controls including the commercial aspects
· Strong knowledge of USGAAP and SOX legislation
· Excellent communication and influencing skills
· Project management skills
· Be flexible to travel on short notice within EMEA
· Experience with Oracle ERP system
