Embedded Hardware Team Leader

Up to £70,000 DOE

Embedded Hardware Team Leader required to join one of the most innovative and respected brands in the UK. Working at their HQ near Bristol, you will be required to provide full technical leadership for a rapidly expanding hardware electronics team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious company making an impact on modern technology.

As Embedded Hardware Team Leader you will deliver optimum electrical system architecture for new products and define what parts will be implemented in hardware or software. You will work to relevant international standards around functional safety, efficiency, cost, size and weight as well as achieve product guarantee periods. A vital part of this position will be to assist and develop the hardware team within the business including appraisals and mentoring.

As a minimum, the Embedded Hardware Team Leader will need to have

  • Experience in electrical system architecture definition (hardware/software split)
  • Experience in low power SM PSU hardware design (high/low voltage)
  • Experience in the design of closed loop controllers for SM PSU
  • Sensor signal interfacing, amplification and fitting
  • Understanding of micro controller based systems
  • Thermal Design (component specification)
  • PCB Layout - EMC, manufacture etc
  • Design tolerance analysis
  • Definition and design of hardware test systems

Additional experience in SPICE based simulation tools such as Simetrix or system level modelling tools such as Matlab/Simulink would be a large advantage. Appreciation of other engineering disciplines such as DFMEA, knowledge of manufacturing, electromagnetics or mechanical engineering may be useful as well.
