Electronics Technician

Salisbury, Wiltshire

Ideally the candidate will hold SC clearance.

  • To produce electrical and electronic assemblies with strict adherence to approved design data.
  • Meticulous attention to detail when producing assemblies and also when maintaining production records.
  • Types of assemblies typically include wire harness and loom creation, cable and connector termination (typically military spec connectors e.g. D38999 series), loom installation and routing. LRU creation in a wide range of physical sizes from bespoke to 19" rack.
  • Questioning design data following approved methods to ensure that all deviations with design artefacts are approved and recorded.


Knowledge & skills Required


Must have:

  • Avionic engineering background with relevant experience working in a workshop environment. Knowledge and experience of working in aviation regulated business, e.g. EASA Part 21 subpart G or MAA equivalent.

Ideally would have:

  • Avionic apprenticeship (or similar)
  • Security cleared (SC)
  • Knowledge and experience PCB population/rework, including SMT.


Essential Qualifications


Must have:

  • Proficient use of electronics, mechanical and PTT tooling.
  • Wire equipment to very high standards (e.g. IPC class 3).
  • Able to follow strict procedures for the production of equipment.
  • Good knowledge of military (e.g. series D38999) and commercial connectors, terminating.
  • Comfortable working in workshop environment where strict health and safety controls are in force.
  • Proactive and self-driven with a strong ability to overcome problems.
  • Willing and able to maintain a clean and tidy work area, keeping all documentation organised.
  • Positive team attitude.

Ideally would have:

  • HNC (or higher) in electronics
  • Human Factors in Aviation certificate
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certificate
  • IPC J-STD-001 certificate
  • Work in a controlled environment to tight deadlines and budgets
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually in a controlled environment to very tight deadlines and budgets
