I am recruiting an experienced Electronic Technician to work with a FTSE 250 Specialist Nuclear Services Organisation.

They are looking for proactive, dedicated and enthusiastic technicians to join their team. Working on a variety of reactor in-core inspection and safety circuit equipment, undertaking assembly, wiring and test activities, the position requires an individual to be conscientious, have an eye for detail and ability to spot issues which may become future problems. Safety, quality and reliability are key elements.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to and signed completion of written operations on production planning, identifying any variances and notifying engineering for approval or further actions
  • Fault investigation and repair of analogue circuits (discrete through hole components and ICs)
  • Fault investigation and repair of analogue electronics trip units and linear power supplies
  • Production of detailed investigation and fault reports, with identification of root causes with Engineer
  • Assembly and Test of analogue PCBs, Modules and Units
  • Design and manufacture of test boxes to support test, minimise errors and improve efficiency
  • Optical inspection of PCBs and components
  • Assembly and wiring of small electronic modules, boxes and units and electrical/electronic control and indication panels and cubicles
  • On machine wiring of electrical and electronic devices, including cable management and termination
  • Electrical Duty Holder. (In house electrical safety course & BS7671 training)
  • Provide local support, fault finding on Low Voltage plant and equipment within in the facility.


  • Apprenticeship or HNC in Electrical/Electronic discipline
  • 3 years+ experience
  • Nuclear industry or other safety or regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCad and SAP Software would be beneficial.
  • Security Clearance will need to be obtained
