Electronics Design Engineer:

Working as part of a team to develop electronic circuits for general controller products intended for use in aviation and safety critical applications.

Required experience / skills:

  1. Circuit analysis and design of mixed analogue and digital circuits based on requirements.
  2. Knowledge of control and interface circuit design (e.g. sensor interfacing, ADCs, op-amps).
  3. Knowledge of processor and memory device interfacing (e.g. DSP, Volatile / non-volatile memory, digital data busses)
  4. Working experience of the key elements of analogue circuit design: op-amps, BJTs, FETs, filter design.
  5. Appreciation of design for EMC techniques to accommodate EMI and Lightning protection.
  6. Experience in requirements capture and management through Engineering Development lifecycle
  7. Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  1. Knowledge of PCB technologies and manufacturing
  2. Experience of Dfx (Design for Test, Manufacture, Reliability) best practice
  1. Ability to author documentation (e.g. plans, requirements, design descriptions, test procedures etc).
  2. Experience integrating and verifying electronic modules and products.
  3. Must be able to work according to company and industry standards and design processes.
  4. Experience integrating and verifying electronic modules and products.

Desirable experience / skills:

  1. Design for environment (e.g. Vibration, temperature)
  2. Design process assurance (e.g. DO-254)
  3. Aerospace or similar safety critical design experience (e.g. automotive, medical).

Desirable tools experience:

  1. Schematic Capture (e.g. Mentor Graphics)
  2. Circuit modelling and simulation (e.g. SIMetrix, Spice)
  3. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  4. Requirements management (e.g. DOORS)
