I am recruiting an Electrician/Electrical Maintenance Technician to work for a FTSE 250 Engineering Support Services Organisation in Aberdeenshire. This role functions within their Communication Division which provides vital services to key defence clients.

As the electrically bias Hard FM Technician you will provide installation and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure for two buildings. This includes, but not limited to, industrial motors, consumer units and air compressors.

There is the opportunity to train and develop to be the Senior High Voltage Authorised Person.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical and administrative records and provide information as required.
  • To install, inspect, test, and if necessary specify, electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • To carry out supervision of electrical and mechanical installation work.
  • To monitor and investigate equipment/component failures and where necessary make recommendations to improve the reliability or maintainability of the equipment or component.
  • To apply safety practices correctly.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by multi skilling in other departments when necessary.
  • An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations.
  • Report incidents or hazards.

Required Skills and Experience / Qualifications

  • Recognised apprenticeship as an electrician or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified to City & Guilds 2381 electrical wiring, 2391-01 installation & certification and 17th Edition or equivalent.
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical fitting or installation work.
  • Installation and maintenance of electrical installations to the IET wiring regulations.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices within this discipline.
  • Knowledge of and use and operation of workshop machinery and safety procedures.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Awareness of Health and Safety Regulations.
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
  • To be eligible for SC level (UK) security clearance.
