Electrical Maintenance Technician

Permanent, Full time

I am recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician to work for a FTSE 250 International company specialising in components and sub-systems for the Aerospace, Defence and Energy markets.

You will carry out repairs and maintenance (PPM & reactive) to manufacturing related equipment and building facilities in accordance with standard policies and procedures, internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. You will perform a wide variety of both mechanical and electrical skilled work across multiple-functions and operations of the business.


  • Ensure general safety, compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company requirements
  • Work with Computer Maintenance Management System to assign tasks and log work and report issues.
  • Engage with Sub-Contractors to carry out works at the facility
  • Perform maintenance service and repairs on assigned equipment - Troubleshoots, inspects, repairs, replaces and maintains existing electrical and mechanical systems and associated equipment including spray facility, hydraulic presses, air compressors, air dryers, dehumidifiers, cooling towers, etc.
  • Facilitates and accurately follows specific detailed operational instructions and prints for jobs and setup operations administers for the preventive maintenance system
  • Determines preventative maintenance requirements for new equipment and educates and trains equipment operators to perform routine maintenance
  • Recommends purchase of tools, equipment and supplies to improve processes and increase efficiency
  • Tracking of spend via Excel spreadsheets

Key skills and competencies required:

An indentured apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering and working knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical components and equipment.

We would also like you to:

  • Have electrical circuit and PLC experience - experience of Eurotherm controllers are desirable
  • Be familiar with reading and interpreting documents, schematics and blueprints
  • Be able to recognise and solve typical problems from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Have experience in operating forklifts and other powered equipment

What else do I need to know?

  • Competitive Salary dependent on level of experience.
  • Mon to Thurs 7:30 to 16:15 and Fri 7:30 to 12:00
  • Must be eligible for UK Baseline Security Clearance
