EHS Specialist

EHS Specialist required to join a leading Manufacturing company in Dublin. This role will report to the EHS Manager and will be responsible for the coordination and facilitation of activities required to support and ensure compliance with the IPPC Licence, the GHG permit and the site's ISO 14001 certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all elements of the EHS management system and Corporate Standards
  • Completing process safety risk assessments (HAZOPs, FMEA)
  • Full contractor management including selection, control and legal compliance.
  • Assigned safety systems documentation and training developed and implemented
  • Job Hazard Analysis completed for each assigned area
  • Ensures assigned projects are managed in conjunction with all required company and legal requirements (Health & Safety, construction, environmental etc.)
  • Enhance and develop critical site safety systems
  • Develops and implements assigned elements of the EHS programme for the site
  • Provides support and direction for all departments in Safety/Environmental issues
  • Participate in cross functional teams as an EHS representative
  • Performs audits of all departments to agreed schedule
  • Ensure compliance with all EHS legal requirements, corporate and 14001
  • Ensure compliance to cGMP at all times
  • Participate in incident/accident investigation
  • Conduct EHS risk assessments (general, ergonomic & chemical)
  • Generate EHS communications and reports
  • Liaise with Health and Safety Authority, EPA & Corporate HSE as required.

Qualifications/Experience

  • 3rd level Degree in related discipline and a Health & Safety qualification is essential.
  • You must have 5+ years' experience in an EHS role, in a manufacturing environment - of which at least 3 years' experience has been in a pharmaceutical environment.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Project Management experience desirable.
  • Strong reporting skills with external stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Manages development and training of site
  • Liaise and manage relationship with EPA & local authorities
  • Supports EHS Action team system
  • Self-directed and demonstrated efficient work methods
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft office
