Divisional Governance Manager - NHS

6-month FTC

Experis are recruiting for a Divisional Governance Manager for an NHS trust. The successful application will work closely with the senior nursing and medical staff to ensure excellent standards of care and take responsibility for the environment, robust infection control practices, high standards of cleanliness and compliance with national and local standards.

  • Responsible for ensuring governance and risk systems are in place across the Directorate. To work closely with the Trust Corporate Risk team, Director of Nursing, Divisional Chair and Divisional Director of Operations to ensure effective communication systems are in place.

  • The overall focus of the post is the continuing development of a seamless clinical governance and risk management strategy which fosters multidisciplinary working across the division.

  • Oversee and ensure accuracy and completion of monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for the division

  • The post holder will support staff within the division to deliver high quality services to patients and their families

  • Development of Risk Management initiatives and strategies by ensuring that all clinical incidents are reported by appropriate staff in a timely manner and that lessons are learnt.

  • Delegated budget holder with responsibilities to monitor the use of resources within agreed budget allocation, investigate areas of overspend and take prompt corrective action.

Essential Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a senior role
  • Proven and evidenced management skills
  • Evidence of quality and service improvement
  • Experience working in NHS environment
  • Involved in leading audit and participating in research activities
  • Previous experience of managing a team of staff
  • Evidence of audit or research projects and budget management

Essential Qualifications

  • Education to a masters level or have the relevant significant experience to that level
  • Up to date knowledge of Clinical Governance framework
  • Significant experience in risk management, practice development and audit
  • Experience with the Data Risk Management system (DATIX)

Desirable Qualification

  • Registered Nurse or AHP
  • Varied experience in senior managerial roles
  • linical governance and quality improvement training
  • Route Cause Analysis training
