A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Training (Naval), working for the largest Support Services UK Organisation based in the Portsmouth, providing effective leadership and day to day responsibility for running the Maritime Training Business unit.

Primary responsibilities include;

  • Responsible for all maritime training contracts
  • Deliver the annual business performance to expectation and budget.
  • Responsibility for multiple training delivery contracts
  • Lead the organisation in delivery of all contracted outputs
  • Lead change and transformation effectively
  • Identify growth and business development opportunities
  • Deliver organic growth in line with the Strategic Plan
  • Continually improve the business, taking the initiative and providing leadership to deliver improved services.
  • Build a successful relationship with Authority commercial and finance teams to understand contractual and financial drivers, risks and mitigations

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in a senior leadership role within a matrix multi-disciplined organisation with an emphasis on leading change and growth
  • Experience of working within a complex political environment, ideally with an in-depth understanding of Royal Navy training requirements, managing key stakeholder relationships and negotiating within the defence sector
  • Experience as an effective business developer, possessing the strategic ability to generate real growth opportunities
  • Demonstrable experience in the programme management and delivery of Training services from concept, design, delivery and evaluation with robust Commercial, Financial and Organisation Design governance and implementation.
  • Demonstrable leadership competence in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Professional degree (or equivalent) and evidence of continued professional development
