DEVOPS ENGINEER: (CLOUD/AWS/OPENSTACK, CHEF/PUPPET/ANSIBLE, LINUX)

DEVOPS ENGINEER: (CLOUD/AWS/OPENSTACK, API, MONITORING, LINUX)

The work location is in STAINES and is a 6 month contract; Pay Rates are open to Market rates.

The role is within a Custom Engineering Development team for a Network and Telecommunications industry leader.

Candidates must be willing or eligible for SC Clearance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience building, deploying and operating complex API-driven software - ideally in a cloud environment
    significant expertise with distributed systems, ideally in a cloud environment
  • strong understanding of complex IP networks
  • expert in at least one scripting language such as Ruby or Python
  • significant experience with cloud technologies and/or DevOps approaches to modern software delivery
  • experienced with modern software tools and approaches (Github, pull requests, unit tests,
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environments like Jenkins, ect)
  • experience with modern configuration management frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible

Must Have Skills

  • Experience deploying and operating a shipping software service in a successful customer-facing Cloud Business
  • Experience with API and Web services development
  • Experience with OpenStack - or at least with AWS or Rackspace
  • Extremely strong linux administration skills
  • Extremely strong troubleshooting skills

Highly Desired Skills

  • Experience of Elastic Search / Logstash, or FluentD
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring tools, eg: Sensu, Zabbix, Graphite, StatsD, Prometheus, InfluxDB, ec
  • Experience with encoding and streaming technologies, SIP being the most preferred
  • Experience with application Containers
  • Experience with systems languages
  • Experience with enterprise Java application configuration and management
  • Familiarity with Java build tools, eg Maven, Ant, or Gradle
