Role: Development Team Manager
Location: Southend
Duration: 3-6 months
Start Date: ASAP

Tasks -

· Collate and monitor forecasts and capacity plans to ensure the most effective use of the development, test and requirements resources within the Portfolio Ensure that any issues are escalated as and when necessary
· Manage the resources effectively and efficiently to meet the resource profile required to deliver the agreed work packages to all projects within the Portfolio
· Manage the resource planning and demand signals for future releases
· Ensure communications are effective, timely and accurate with key stakeholders
· Be the escalation point for the direct reports for Risks and Issues and ensure these are managed correctly
· Ensure availability of accommodation and kit, ensuring unused kit is returned as appropriate
· Ensure all relevant HR Policies are understood and applied correctly within the Portfolio
· Ensure capability is understood and used to deliver work and to grow individuals, Manage the skills and knowledge within the Portfolio's development, test and requirements areas to meet the needs of the business
· Manage skills and knowledge transfer to minimise risk
· Ensure continuous improvement has an important focus within area of responsibility, encouraging the challenging of current work practices and the generation of new ideas, also ensuring reviews of current processes and procedures are undertaken
· Ensure all appropriate procedures and processes are understood and being implemented effectively

Technologies -
Informatica, UNIX, UNIX shell scripting, SQL, Oracle, NT Advantage:Gen, PL/SQL, JAVA / J2ee, PEGA Rational Toolset (incl Clear/Case), PERL BEA Weblogic, WebMethods

Mandatory Technical Skill -
Experience in a project Planning tool (MSP, OWB), Experience in rational toolset (ClearCase, Clearquest), Knowledge of Waterfall methodology, Knowledge of SLC/RAE methodology, Knowledge of RUP methodology

Mandatory Business Skill -
Good written and verbal communication skills, Problem solving and creativity skills, Honesty and Integrity, Eagerness to learn, Drive and energy, Professional appearance Knowledge of HMRC business
