What are we looking for?

Our client are looking for a junior Software Developer in Test used to working within the Agile framework, with experience of working with automation test frameworks and tools.

Working within your team you will integrate quality into the entire software development lifecycle rather than testing it at the end.

You should be able to demonstrate experience of some or all of the following:

  • Experience working with automation frameworks.
  • Web and mobile testing, ideally with open source tools.
  • Contiguous integration, continuous deployment and continuous delivery.

  • Pairing with developers to ensure we have a robust and well written suite of automated tests.
  • Ability to produce quality, reusable and maintainable automated tests e.g. UI tests, integration tests, acceptance tests.
  • Ability to write Cucumber Step Definitions to fully automate where possible.
  • Work as part of a cross functional scrum team to help where possible; aid with development testing, help developers to construct unit and integration test cases, generate data for testing.
  • Help remove ambiguity from user stories and add more precise detail/acceptance criteria.
  • Promote testing thought the company - using your passion for quality to coach, promote and inspire testing throughout the entire development and release process.
  • ISTQB and/or Certified Agile Tester (CAT) certification(s).
  • Use of Selenium or equivalent.
  • Any programming ability, e.g. JSON/XML, C#, JavaScript and experience of Elasticsearch and mongodb.
  • GIT for source control;
  • Good experience with testing REST APIs;
  • Good experience with continuous integration and delivery processes.
