Deskside Support Technician - (Windows Servers - Installation and Maintenance of Hardware) - Doxford - 3 months

Our client, a market leading multi-national technology company are looking for a Contact centre desktop support technician, to join them on a customer project based in Doxford. The assignment is an initial 3 month contract and can offer a competitive hourly rate.

Role Overview:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for first point of contact for users in order to assist with first-time fixes.
  • A major part of the role will be to assist with ad-hoc IT related tasks as and when required
  • Candidates will be required to Open tickets and work with service desk where required including any external support parties for hardware equipment failures or software related issues.
  • As the role will be supporting a Public Sector customer some travel to customer sites around the UK may be expected over the duration of the assignment.
  • Occasionally provide cover to sites at other locations as required (for backfill and busy periods) in order to help maintain the overall SLA.
  • To install or re-install any applications onto PCs in line with installation procedures
  • To perform diagnostic services using all available resources, including the use of other customer-based and external support parties.

Key Skills For This Role:

  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate prior experience of at least 3 years deskside support/engineering
  • As you will be responsible for providing provide high-quality, highly visible desk side and floor-walking support functions to the customer and log such activities through the call systems as work is completed.
  • You should also have solid understanding of windows servers from XP, 7, Office 2000.2003 and above.
  • The role is strong customer and user focused therefore experience with onsite support calls/maintenance calls is a bonus.
  • You must also have experience in previous roles where it is evident of strong communication skills.

Working Environment Details

Location as specified will be on site at the Doxford location.

Corporate Clothing - Customer attire as required in line with both customer and employer expectations

Hours - Working as a part of an on-site rota, which currently covers the service hours of 8am to 8pm Monday to Sunday. This will require a mixture of Early, Late and Weekend shifts to be worked. The weekend shifts are 12 hours whilst weekday shifts are 7.5 hours
