Desk Support Engineer with in depth knowledge and support experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESX/ESXi as well as in depth knowledge of migration of performing physical to physical, physical to virtual, virtual to physical, virtual to virtual cross technologies as well as physical to image and image to virtual using native tools and third party.

Rate: £200.00-250.00 per day

Duration: 12 months

Essential Requirements:

  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server architecture
  • In depth knowledge of, and experience supporting, Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008/2012
  • Hands-on experience on patching through SCCM
  • Hands on experience on monitoring tools like SCOM
  • Should be well versed in Exchange 2003 / 2007 / 2010
  • Scripting - VBScript, PowerShell.
  • Any other technology skills would be an added advantage.
  • Common administration tasks as below.
  • Broad understanding of networking, system management, VMware and Windows Server operating systems
  • Experience with server hardware, including blade servers
  • Knowledge of security tools and products (e.g. MacAfee, Symantec and PMP)
  • Microsoft Server and VMware certifications a plus
  • V Centre troubleshooting
  • Primary responsibilities to resolve the office users reported desktop issues
  • Service Level Agreement for Desk side support resource during his working hours excluding holidays, vacations, emergency leave and Out of Office
  • Secondary responsibilities to resolve the Service Desk support activities
  • Service Desk Service Level Agreement (SLA) would be applicable for all incidents handled by resource, as per "Technical support managed services" SOW
  • Onsite desk side support for London location
  • Direct attached printer support (Personal and Network)
  • Wireless support (WiFi support)
  • Smartphone Support (iPhone and Android, including account management and device setup)
