Due to continued growth and internal mobility, a rare opportunity has come to market for a hands-on Desktop Engineering & Automation Lead with relevant industry experience and expertise in PowerShell scripting and automation. You will help to lead an existing team of five experienced Desktop Engineers, which is also likely to expand in line with continued business growth. The team is primarily concerned with engineering and maintenance of a Global Desktop and VDI environment including support to the Trade Floor, VIPs and other offices. Besides technical team leadership you will be tasked with providing engineered solutions to solve technical problems via the use of automation, as well as upskilling the team and transforming the engineering culture towards an DevOps / Infrastructure-as-Code focus.

Requirements

Desktop Engineering & Automation Lead with a Trade Floor background, ideally gained in a leading Hedge Fund, Market Maker or Proprietary Trading firm.

Advanced PowerShell scripting skills - additional experience of Azure DSC, C#, Python and/or VMWare CLI useful but non-essential.

Excellent understanding of Active Directory and in particularly Group Policy/GPO and authentication.

Solid Windows 10, Office 2016/O365 (especially Excel and Outlook), Exchange 2016 and some exposure to VMWare/Horizon.

Good understanding of build and client distribution architectures (SCCM).

Market Data, Cisco Phones and Call Manager and/or Mac OSX experience desirable.
