Clearance: SC level required

We have an excellent opportunity to work on a contract for a company providing essential through-life support to the Royal Navy's Surface Fleet and Submarine Fleet.
As part of this crucial team you will work to ensure that the facilities meet both the customer needs, and the standards of regulators.
You will be working within a team whose role it is to control the safety case which permits these changes to be made to their nuclear site, therefore attention to detail and a questioning attitude are valued attributes.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows -

  • Liaise with Design and Technical Authorities to understand technical detail and provide customer guidance
  • Manage and implement changes to Safety Cases
  • Able to solve complex and diverse problems without compromising safety to the submarine programme
  • Good interpersonal skills to manage our stakeholders and help them to deliver changes on the ground
  • Able to think logically gaining information from other teams and then suggesting solutions
  • Take ownership of the delivery of critical path activities to support the submarine programme
  • Prioritise workload to ensure programme deadlines are met

Skills and experience

  • Awareness of the regulation of an operational facility, preferably nuclear.
  • Understanding of compliance against regulations.
  • Management of technical changes to an operational facility - long term / temporary and physical / process. (desirable)
  • Previous exposure to submarine upgrades and refits (desirable)
  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline e.g. Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM)
