Deputy Financial ControllerPermanent FarnboroughWe are looking to recruit a Deputy Financial Controller for a new and exciting position to join a FTSE250 defence technology business based in Farnborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing exciting business that is at the forefront of national security with significant scope for career development and progression. The role is working on long term contract between the organisation and the Ministry of Defence to deliver training support services to the UK armed forces. The Deputy Financial Controller will work as part of the contract finance team reporting directly to the Financial Controller for the business unit.You will set the standard for financial control and governance across the contract ensuring that financial information is of the highest calibre, that it is accurate, relevant and timely. You will engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure clear and consistent project governance and cost control, and provide financial advice and instruction relating to project controls in delivery of the contract. Duties will include Responsible for ensuring that the project costs are clearly understood, challenged and controlled and that key messages are reported to relevant stakeholders. You will be required to work closely with the customer and transition teams to help ensure the success of the change programmeYou will be the focal point for internal managers providing advice and governance around current contract performance and also for budgeting and forecasting.You will work alongside the LTPA Financial Controller and within the LTPA finance team to establish a robust financial governance and reporting regime that will regularly challenge project financials and ensure clear reporting of performance to senior stakeholders.Act as the financial focal point of contact for contract cost reporting to the customer and auditorsDeputise for the Financial Controller as and when requiredWhat will I need?Good working knowledge of SAP is essential, knowledge of Hyperion is useful but not essential as training will be given.Excellent Excel skills essentialQualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA or qualified by experienceWe're committed to providing a great employee experience in a supportive and engaging environment.
