Delivery Manager

Telford

The Messaging Delivery Group manage the delivery and support of the client's Messaging services by its two delivery centres based in Telford and Southend.

The Messaging Delivery Group:

  • Provides governance for two delivery centres
    • Manages the common integration platforms that connect internal and external services and customers.
  • Provides a flexible and scalable framework for future service integration
  • Develops and supports client's enterprise middleware platforms
  • Provides governance for integration and technical API standards

The Delivery Manager enables a multi-disciplinary team to successfully deliver a new service and to support existing services. They remove obstacles, or blockers to progress, constantly helping the team to become more self-organising. They are able to communicate with colleagues and customers alike, sharing ideas, skills and experience to ensure the whole team performs to its best.

The successful candidate will manage a quality service, deliver at pace, show good leadership and communication skills and build capability for all.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the delivery of projects using the appropriate Agile project management methodology
  • Work with the Product Manager to define the roadmap for the service and act as deputy to the product manager
  • Matrix-manage a multi-disciplinary team
  • Facilitate project meetings including daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Track progress and provide status reports to projects and stakeholders.
  • Enable the team to produce estimates of how much effort will be required to produce features that the Product Manager wants
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine the DG's approach to Agile project management and service development

Essential skills:

The successful candidate will need demonstrate experience the following disciplines:

  • Project Management (preferably qualified)
  • Project delivery using Agile project management methods
  • Balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
  • Matrix-management of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Collaboration tools ideally Confluence and Jira
  • Continuous Integration environments and tooling (desirable)
  • Middleware / messaging products (desirable)
