Database Developer (SQL) - Brighton - Permanent - up to £45k basic
A well-known and established organisation based in Brighton are looking to recruit an experienced Database Developer to deliver and maintain tactical and strategic IT systems to support the business
Responsibilities:
- Analyse, estimate and prioritise work items to achieve the best outcome
- Work individually to investigate, prioritise and solve problems in production systems
- Design and deliver coding solutions, by choosing appropriate design principles and techniques to use within the technical framework defined by the architecture team
- Manage and control problems and change within area of responsibility, including negotiation with other teams as necessary
Essential Skills:
- Deep knowledge of administering and maintaining a SQL Server infrastructure up to SQL Server 2019 including HA/DR, Availability Groups, Change Data Capture / Change Tracking.
- Experience and understanding of cloud concepts, Iaas and PaaS database solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Experience of investigating and diagnosing technical problems, and performance tuning in complex business systems
- Good understanding of extract / transform / load techniques and tools (including SSIS and / or Azure Data Factory), data archiving principles, and capacity planning
- Experienced in data analysis, data modelling, database design, database development, and optimisation including normalisation / de-normalisation, indexing, partitioning, T-SQL query tuning / optimisation, designing for concurrency. Development of stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions.
- Experience and understanding of the use of Agile methodologies including Database DevOps to plan, develop, test and deliver data solutions.
- Knowledge of Powershell and C# desirable.
