Data Analyst

We are actively looking to secure a Data Analyst to join Experis as one of our expert consultants, delivering services to our clients.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Working with business departments to understand the issues and data challenges, thereafter ensuring the requirements, specifications and recommendations related to a proposed solution work correctly.
  • Help drive key data architecture decisions by demonstrating an understanding of the underlying data requirements, source systems, platform capabilities and target business areas.
  • Ensuring the design of Data Models and ETL pipelines to meet the business requirements in the most efficient manner.
  • Testing data to validate its structure, consistency to requirements and viability for business use
  • Ensuring that risks and issues are identified in a timely manner and effectively communicate proposed resolution and mitigation strategies to the wider delivery team.
  • Work effectively with members of the team to playback the business challenges and proposed changes to ensure they have a full understanding of the impact and retain a close relationship throughout, to ensure that the requirements are met.
  • Contribute towards defining the analysis best practice and standards and ensure consistency of delivery across the team.

Essentials for this role will include:

  • Proven experience of delivery of analysis across large scale data warehousing projects.
  • Demonstrable application of Data Warehousing principles in terms of dimensional modelling and ETL pipeline design.
  • Experience of translating diffuse and complex business requirements into user stories covering functional, non-functional, security and acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent SQL skills enabling large scale data transformation and analysis
  • Experience in developing ETL data transformation code, preferably in GCP data flow, or other leading ETL tools e.g. Informatica/Ab Initio
  • Confident and collaborative team member, working with peers in the development and test team (and beyond) to ensure the requirements are delivered.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to influence technical decisions in a fast-moving commercial environment.
  • Experience in data testing - writing test conditions based on understanding of business and data requirements, creating SQL code to enable repeatability of tests and executing test including the capture of defects
  • Effective management of multiple priorities and conflicting requests, escalating to senior management where necessary.
