Cyber Researcher - London

Key Responsibilities
- Research on new and emerging technology controls for ICS, OT and Internet of Things (IoT) that would benefit the energy sector
- Research common and emerging vulnerabilities, providing valuable options to mitigate and withstand threat
- Direct digitalisation initiatives where there is benefits that is measurable against agility, value for money and/or resilience
- Measure the success of technologies introduced to support the defence and resilience against sophisticated attacks to critical systems
- Publish security architectural design patterns and guidance for new and emerging technologies and products for the energy sector
- Introduce working groups and forums with leading players in the ICS/OT technology, ensuring the client maintains a leading role
- Maintains currency of intelligence relating to sector related cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, controls and incidents, facilitates and/or promulgates in a tactical and strategic manner
- Communicate common and/or emerging vulnerabilities identified from research, with potential resolution
- Provide advice to the OES improvement planning and audit outcomes based on demonstrable R&D findings, to improve sector and defend against threats
Essential:
- 5 years' experience in cyber, information security, information assurance.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a research, engineering, cyber security, information security or technology-based discipline.
- Good experience in technical research and cyber market analysis.
- Certified to one or more of the following; CISSP, CISM, ISO27001 Lead Auditor or equivalent
- Experience of deploying new and emerging digital, cloud services and technology solutions
- An effective and engaging communicator, with experience working effectively with key external stakeholders.
- Willingness to gain security clearance will be required for this role, initially up to SC and potentially DV.
Desirable:
- Operating or architecting in a technology or OT environment, related to managing the security of critical systems;
- Understanding of cyber security risks affecting ICS and duly considering appropriate and reasonable security controls to mitigate such risks;
- Managing security and risks associate with Operational Technology and/or Control Systems; and
- Working knowledge of IEC62443 series in critical infrastructure and challenges faced with introducing security controls
