Continuous Improvement Engineer - £37,000+ benefits and exceptional career progression - FTSE 100 organisation

I am recruiting a continuous improvement engineer/ Lean professional to work for a FTSE 100 engineering organisation and market leader in providing through life engineering support to the Royal Navy.

The successful Continuous Improvement Engineer will identify, lead and deliver continuous improvement and transformation projects, ensuring that change is developed and implemented with the support of the delivery teams, the appropriate engagement is exercised across all stakeholders and that improvements are embedded to deliver identified benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the specification and development of improvement projects an manage their implementation by assigning tasks and supervising progress to ensure objectives are met, in line with company policy, principles and objectives.
  • Assist the Operations Improvements Manager in maximising the utilisation and the efficiency of the Directorate.
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the projects' cost, time and quality requirement, including the management of project risk.
  • Implementation of the company safety, quality and environmental policies in the operations improvement area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices,
  • Ensure Operations are producing a high quality output using the most efficient methods, with maximum product and people safety and delivering a service that is cost-effective for both the customer and the company.
  • Conceive and develop plans for solving engineering related problems, review the technical feasibility of proposed solutions, collaborate with management to discuss recommendations and agree solutions.
  • Create work assignments and schedules for graduates and summer placement staff and review progress against targets


  • Continuous Improvement/Lean/Process Improvement Experience
  • Engineering qualifications or experience of working in an engineering environment
  • Ability to use initiative and take ownership and accountability for projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to satisfy UK MOD security requirements
