  • We are looking for an experienced Content Strategist to work with our customer on an existing project to implement a content management system from scratch in accordance with the S1000D international specification.
  • The successful candidate must be able to manage other employees, customer requirements and expectations and project management experience is vital in order to keep the project on track and within budget. Once the system is established, this role would then evolve to a permanent role leading a team that produces concise and accurate technical documentation based on information taken from a variety of sources, which will require working with customer teams to obtain an understanding of the products and solutions developed for the programme in order to understand the documentation requirements and produce the necessary supporting documents.
  • The project is an IT system with the usual server/data centre equipment and transportable systems, the candidate should be familiar with common IT equipment usage and configurations.
  • The selected candidate must provide evidence of technical expertise in the co-ordination, design and implementation of S1000D technical documentation strategy, which is to include details about the Data Module Requirements List (DMRL) and the Publication Data Base (PDB) as used to track, manage, store and retrieve documents and reduce paper?based output.
  • It is essential for the role holder to have a technical/engineering background in order to produce artefacts in a coherent and comprehensible language, and that they are not only competent but experienced in the use of software authoring programs, including but not limited to: MS Office, Adobe FrameMaker, Isodraw, CAPS2000 and Eagle Publishing System (EPS), CorelDraw.

  • Capability to manage a project to establish an S1000D compliant content management programme from scratch
  • Ability to interpret and assimilate basic technical data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication, customer relations and team- leading skills
  • Ability to express technical information clearly and briefly in simple English, as appropriate to its intended audience
  • Proven documentation skills to a high?level, with an in?depth working knowledge of MS Office applications and other defined publications packages
