Communications Executive, Land Sector - Lakeside, Portsmouth - 6 month FTC

A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join a FTSE 100 Organisation based in Portsmouth as a Communications Executive. The purpose of the role is to enhance the perception and understanding of the sector, its capabilities, performance and key business information with key stakeholders through the delivery of high quality, clear and compelling communications

This opportunity is on a 6-month FTC basis which is based at Lakeside, Portsmouth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Communications with the ongoing delivery of internal and external communications channels to support the sector's strategy
  • Draft material for a range of internal communications (employee newsletter, functional newsletters, intranet, internal announcements etc) and external communications (case studies, web pages etc)
  • Provide professional communications and logistical support for internal events (employee recognition events, internal conferences etc.) and external events (exhibitions, sponsored events, etc)
  • Provide communication support and guidance to sector's internal functions (Organisation & Development, Health & Safety, Security etc)
  • Update the intranet and sector website, helping to generate relevant and compelling content
  • Project manage photography/video shoots and stakeholder visits to sites
  • Gather stakeholder feedback and prepare reports to prove effectiveness of communications channels and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain stakeholder lists and e-mail distribution groups and help to manage budget spend by keeping accurate records
  • Gather sector success stories to support the Group's graduate recruitment/STEM/CSR campaigns
  • Develop a good understanding of the markets in which the sector operates to ensure communications are relevant and fit for purpose

Key skills:

A background in communications, specifically written, is essential. The successful candidate will be able to produce well written, compelling content for a variety of communications such as intranet, internal newsletters, staff surveys, web pages etc.
