Commercial Manager- £45,000-50,000 - Farnborough

A leading Defence and Security Consultancy are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to work on a permanent basis in the South.

This Commercial Manager role is responsible for providing commercial support to a growing portfolio of projects from initial opportunity to contract completion.

This individual will be responsible for all aspects of commercial support including customer contracting, managing agreements with key partners and suppliers, trade compliance reviews, and tender support, as well as support other businesses worldwide as required.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Effectively be the commercial point of contact for the Infrastructure Monitoring businesses for internal staff and client commercial queries
  • Negotiates terms and conditions and manages internal process for obtaining Non-Disclosure, Teaming, Representative, Reseller, Sales and purchasing agreements and other agreements in accordance with delegations and commercial guidance
  • Ensures that the commercial and contractual issues in all sales proposals have been assessed, reviewed, managed safely and appropriately addressed. This includes providing commercial advice at the bid/no bid decision stage, inputs to pricing, cashflow, and deal structure.
  • Ensures that the terms and conditions of the proposal submitted to the customer, and/or the contract as subsequently agreed after negotiation, reflect the basis on which the decision to enter into the contract was

Qualification/ Skills & Attributes:

5 years' relevant experience in:

  • Structuring, negotiating and closing commercial agreements
  • Contract management in relevant industries
  • Experience of international business including export controls, letter of credit, bonds, warranties and guarantees
  • Providing relevant advice on all commercial aspects of typical transactions and agreements.
  • Working with financial information and is aware of financial impacts on bids/contracts/projects.
  • Working with and working in an office based dynamic small team environment liaising with Business Development, Project, Financial, commercial and legal teams
