COM Liaison Manager


I am recruiting a COM Liaison Manager on behalf of a FTSE 100 Engineering Organization and true market leader within engineering support for the maritime and defence industries.

The Liaison Manager will work within the Service Delivery Management Team. The COM Liaison Manager (T45) will be class specific and will be responsible for the successful integration of MSSP activities with those of the waterfront organisations at Portsmouth, in particular the Class Output Management (COM) Team. The post holder will be responsible for establishing and managing lines of communication, business processes, governance, and operating cycles.

The post holder will be the primary point of contact with the waterfront organisations at Portsmouth. The post holder will coordinate management of class specific activities and assess priorities with the key stakeholders. The post holder will also be responsible for leading and maintaining a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Principal Tasks & Responsibilities

To provide the two-way interface between Team Assure and the COM.

Development and maintenance of constructive customer and stakeholder relationships.

Primary Point of Contact (POC) with the waterfront organisations for all contract specific activities, supported by the MSSP Team Assure Portsmouth waterfront team as required.

Foster links and maintain good working relationships within the service delivery, technical and Supply Chain and Inventory teams to enable effective use of Business capability

Foster links and maintain good working relationships with industry and the wider Babcock.

Support the demand planning function with information on fleet demands.

Exercise care for own health and safety and ensure all team members co-operate with respect to company standards with regard to matters on health, safety and environment, ethics and behaviours.

To support the development of MSSP policies, processes and strategy.

Participate in the review, maintenance and upkeep of quality assurance documentation.


Embedded within the T45 Class Output Management team at the waterfront.

Accountable to the Programme Managers and Head of Service Delivery for business delivery.

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager for Team Assure leadership in Portsmouth.

Engagement with the system specific Chief and Principal Engineers and the Technical Services team.

Qualifications and Experience

Experienced in operating with or within a waterfront Class Output Management Team.

Engineering / technical background and knowledge of T45 systems highly desirable.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an applicable discipline highly desirable.

Advanced project and programme management skills with minimum of 5yrs applicable experience.

Association of Project Managers Practitioner Qualification or equivalent highly desirable.
