I recruit for a FTSE 250 Organisation who offers Engineering Support Services to the Royal Navy. Due to expanding growth they are currently recruiting experienced CNC Supervisors to support to live and developing projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently utilise employees in the execution of the contracted work, ensuring that start/stop times, attendance standards, behaviour standards are maintained at all times.
  • Manage the work load to meet contract requirements whilst achieving cost, time and quality requirements.
  • Establish and ensure that safe working practices and the working environment is in accordance with the Company policy.
  • Set production targets to employees on a daily basis ensuring achievement
  • Update metrics and Visual Management Boards
  • Liaise and work with planning, materials, warehousing, quality and other support functions to ensure a co-ordinated team approach
  • Liaise and work with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and facilitate training requirements within the group.
  • Ensure maintenance of equipment within designated area.
  • Participate in the development of a continuous improvement culture. Assist with forecasting resource requirements.
  • Request and manage overtime requirements ensuring alignment with overtime policy.
  • Ensure employees are suitably trained and experienced for the task they are allocated.
  • Ability to read, understand and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements of the task in hand
  • Hold daily meetings with Operators and Conduct 1:2:1's on a monthly basis

Required Competencies

  • Strong back ground in large CNC machining with a minimum 7 years' experience. Must be able to demonstrate hand`s on ability
  • A proven record of supervisory experience with a minimum of 3 years working in this capacity
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of EDGECAM and VERICUT software is advantageous
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances on drawings.
  • Experience of IFS would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of latest cutter technology is essential
