£35,000 to £39,000 dependant on experience

I recruit for a FTSE 100 Organisation who offers Engineering Support Services to the Royal Navy. Due to expanding growth they require experienced CNC Offline Programming Engineers to provide CNC 5 axis Programming capability top support to 'Live' and developing projects.

The purpose of this role is to deliver complex CNC machining programs for all large CNC turning and milling machine tools. Technical input will be required throughout the project life-cycles from bid & tendering stage through to in-service.


  • Liaise with CNC Production Engineer to analyse and develop the best approach, planning and create / provide efficient CNC part programming output machining processes.
  • Develop and control tool management system for all machine tools.
  • Responsible for providing all error free CNC programs, proving out of programs for all project specific CNC machine Tools.
  • Supporting the CNC Production Engineer, identify and develop the best cutting technology to improve the machining quality, capability and cycle time reduction.
  • Have ability to troubleshoot faults / errors on CNC programs and define correct cutting conditions.
  • Train & develop other team members to an appropriate level.
  • Determine Health & Safety requirements for all associated processes.

Required Competencies

  • High / Low volume production within an industrial environment, as a CNC Programmer
  • Conversant in Off and On line CNC Programming software, such as EdgeCam, Delcam, MasterCAM, Vericut or NX
  • Able to demonstrate from 3 CNC programming capability
  • Be able to communicate efficiently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Be able to gather, analyse and solve problems around CNC machining using recognised problem solving techniques.
  • Experience of working in a medium or heavy manufacturing environment
  • HNC / C&G equivalent supporting qualification in a mechanical or manufacturing discipline
