Cloud Operations Technician - Cloud Services

Experience of some or more of the following technologies will be required - Although Training is Given, if you have proven expertise in any of the technologies required please be sure to highlight this in your CV as this will be highly advantageous for your CV Application.

VMware, Nimbus Cloud, Veeam Backup & Replication, Disaster Recovery, Testing and Restores, Windows Servers 2012 and 2016, Active Directory, MS Office 365, MS Azure, NetApp.

Joining a small cloud operations team, this role is providing an excellent opportunity to work with some of the latest technologies' applications, with the progression to Cloud Services Engineer. possible for the right candidate.

Your key areas of responsibility will be to support, manage and take ownership of Service Desk Tickets related to all Nimbus services.

  • Troubleshooting issues
  • Supporting VMware applications
  • Assist with Backup requirements
  • Meeting Service Level Agreements / SLA's
  • Escalate appropriate technical issues and problems
  • Proactively seeing Tickets issued through to their completion
  • Documenting repeatable support tickets with the goal of enhancing the company's knowledge base


  • Performing daily health checks on services
  • Backup Reports
  • Service Health
  • Configuring, running, analyzing and distributing reports related to all services
  • Investigating/resolving service-related issues
  • Performing any client tests for Nimbus Cloud services in line with SLAs
  • Test restores
  • DR tests
  • Applying updates on systems
  • To attend any job-related training arranged by the Company.
  • Any other reasonable job-related ad hoc duties and requested by the Cloud Services Manager


  • 1-2 years in a customer facing support role beneficial (MSP if possible)
  • VMware ESXi (especially as part of a clustered vCenter environment)
  • Microsoft Server operating systems
  • Knowledge of Office 365 suite advantageous
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery products (Veeam & Zerto advantageous)
  • Awareness of public cloud providers and portals (Azure, AWS, IBM)
  • Linux based experience
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems
  • Logical fault-finding approach
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Good time keeping
