Cloud Engineer - Jaguar Land Rover - Manchester

Jaguar Land Rover are looking to a Cloud Engineer in their brand new Digital Development Centre in Manchester, this role provides a rare opportunity to support and grow an entirely new cloud native capability within Jaguar Land Rovers digital delivery team.

Joining the team in our Digital Development Centre, as a Cloud Engineer will include to work on a variety of large and innovative public and private cloud based projects. You will design and deliver solutions based on IaaS platforms such as AWS, GCP, OpenStack or Azure. You will develop highly resilient applications, helping deliver state of the art multi-cloud software solutions on public, private and hybrid clouds, for exciting new projects.

Essential skills for the Cloud Engineer:

  • Strong experience of cloud technologies such as AWS, GPC, Azure or OpenStack
  • Understanding of Cloud native principals and techniques such as Microservices, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Containers and/or Infrastructure-as-code
  • A passion for utilising DevOps practices to enable Continuous Delivery
  • Proven track record of running software in production
  • Enjoy working in cross functional teams (DevOps and QAs) - Strong collaborative skills
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of telemetry practices (graphing, monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection)

Desirable skill for the Cloud Engineer:

  • Knowledge of Cloud Foundry
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation ect
  • Understanding of Ansible, Chef, Puppet or other Configuration Management tooling
