Job Description

Our client is an American multinational information technology company, with operations in over 170 countries and is one of the most prestige companies in the world. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for the technical design, implementation and operations of public cloud environments. Advising and shaping technical best practices, working in conjunction with architects, product owners, systems engineers and other business stakeholders to deliver assigned project tasks. Implementing designs to ensure security, scalability and robustness of all created services.

Essential Criteria

-The role requires a critical mix of the following skills:

  • Experience as an engineer for cloud infrastructure or cloud-hosted software
  • Understanding and experience of emerging cloud services and data architectures
  • Experience in working in an agile software development environment
  • Use of DevOps CI/CD practices
  • Knowledge of AWS or Azure

Desirable Skills

  • AWS or Azure certification
  • Previous experience with MOD, agency and customers with sensitive information
  • Experience working with a number of agile workflow tools including: JIRA, Confluence, Agile
  • Good use and understanding of tooling such as Git, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Experience at working with agile at scale using frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
  • Strong experience of developing and operating cloud environments
  • Experience using DevOps technologies
  • Holds associate or professional cloud certifications
  • Good knowledge of AWS infrastructure, IaaS, continuous integration and development pipeline and any relevant automation tools
  • Knowledge of architecture, development and operation of critical systems within a DevOps environment
  • Analytical and root cause analysis skills
  • Position Requirements: GG10 Cloud Engineer contractor - to work on AWS projects
