My client is currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Engineer to be based at the Devonport Royal Dockyard, the largest Naval Dockyard in North West Europe which employs in the region of 5,500 people. This client ensures that the amphibious platforms remain safe, capable and available for operations around the world and do so by providing maintenance, support and capability upgrades through the life of the platform.

The primary role of the Amphibious Class Chief Engineer is to head the Amphibious Warship Technical Authority and maintain the Design Intent of the amphibious platforms. You will be required to undertake Technical Investigations, respond to technical queries, ensure technical accuracy of design solutions, and ensure compliance current and future legislation while providing technical leadership and governance.

About You

Professionally registered at CEng or above, with an engineering based Degree in any of the following disciplines - Marine, Electrical/Mechanical/Naval Architecture/Combat Systems.

An excellent communicator, you will be able to articulate complex arguments for a wide range of stakeholders to understand. You will be able to demonstrate that you can investigate and drive technical issues to completion.

Preferably degree qualified you will be committed to continuing your professional development. And ideally will have some experience in the Maritime domain, with a clear understanding of the MoD's organisation and processes to support Warships.
