C# Automation Tester

Farnborough Based

6 Months

£400 p/d

Role Activities:

The successful candidate will be required, with the support of the developers working on the project to:

  • Read user stories/requirements and functional specifications to create manual and automation test scripts
  • Work with complex global SharePoint Application developed systems
  • Create test designs and write test plans
  • Identify and document defects during test execution
  • Participate and lead user acceptance testing.
  • Undertake stress testing using Visual Studio

Experience & Knowledge:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of:

  • Producing automated test suites & scripts using regression test packs to test new and amended software
  • Amending existing test scripts to align with changes in the software
  • Creating Visual Studio automation frameworks
  • Utilising different automation frameworks & produce scripts aligned to this framework
  • Provide automation inputs during analysis phase and assist QA/Development team on an ad-hoc basis
  • Solid experience of all stages of the software test lifecycle
  • Using SQL scripts and Microsoft TFS
  • Experience of SharePoint 2013/2016 custom solutions
  • Using different test automation tools
  • Experience of creating and executing test plans
  • Experience of integrating a test suite into existing CI pipelines

Skills & Competencies: (Job-specific skills and technical competencies required)

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in automation testing
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in software testing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels
  • An intuitive and investigative nature
  • Demonstrable accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and ensure successful delivery of assigned tasks
  • Understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies
  • Ability to analyse and apply a pragmatic and context driven approach to any testing
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Must be degree educated or have a recognised business professional qualification

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience of guided and exploratory testing
  • Experience of delivering software development projects in a defence industry environment
  • Experience of working in an agile environment
