We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join a leading aviation and engineering business based in Aberdeen.

You will be working on the procurement of aircraft parts and repair services for a fleet of commercial aircraft, which provide services to the oil & gas industry. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace, as a result we are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven people.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • To action requisitions and obtain quotations for new aircraft parts, standard exchanges and repairs orders in order to obtain the most cost effective solution and efficient delivery date to meet the requirements of the business.
  • Update Requestors on a daily basis on the progress of any outstanding orders to allow for planning in the event of a delay in delivery and ensure the back order report is kept up to date ensuring all orders are expedited through to receipt.
  • To resolve all queries from suppliers relating to purchase orders and invoicing
  • Compile reports and information relating to product usages, stock and cost savings
  • To ensure that core returns are tracked and shipped back to the supplier within the designated time constraints
  • Support stakeholders across the business with general procurement and purchasing queries and requests

Qualification/ Skills & Attributes:

  • 2+ years' experience in a Buyer or Procurement based position
  • Hold a CIPS qualification or working towards - highly desirable
  • Aviation experience is desirable but not essential
  • Have an appropriate level of knowledge in supply chain and procurement of goods/services.
  • Good level of MS Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, V-lookups)
  • Be resilient, confident and proactive
