Buyer -(12 Fixed Term) - £25,000-30,000 - South Bristol

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join a leading engineering business based in Bristol on an initial 12 Month Fixed Term contract.

You will be working on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace, as a result we are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven people.

This is a great opportunity for a procurement professional to work for a FTSE 250 engineering company and be a part of increasing the overall value derived from the supply chain.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring appropriate Contract Terms and Conditions are applied to all Contracts (including Sub-Contract and Purchase Orders) placed.
  • Participating in Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management or Capability Development initiatives, supporting the development of the Company's Supply Chain and Procurement strategy.
  • Analysing procurement spends and seeking to introduce the most reliable cost effective procurement route to suit each circumstance or group of circumstances.
  • Instructing, leading and preparing the issue of invitations to tender/request for quotations, proactively ensuring they are responded to in a timely manner.

Qualification/ Skills & Attributes:

  • Hold a recognised degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Be a Member of a relevant professional body, for example the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply at a Level 5 or above (preferred).
  • Have an appropriate level of knowledge in supply chain and procurement of goods/services.
  • Have a proven track record of effective people management and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a willingness to work in different areas of the business as the business need requires.
