Business Support Accountant - Fleet Reporting Specialist
Clyde, Faslane
About the role


Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Business Support Accountant to act as the single point of contact for the Fleet Project Management Team.
You will provide Cost Control, Project Accounting and Financial Support function to the Planning and Production Departments and will be out onsite developing and maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders from project managers to the Head of Production.


You will also provide direction, coaching and leadership on the implementation of an accurate cost collection, reconciliation & forecast to complete reporting process, whilst conducting monthly financial review meetings and attending monthly site reviews.
This is an exciting role in a unique environment with great exposure to complex projects and supporting managers and the business in the delivery to the required costs and quality and within budgets and contract.


What do I need to do the role?
You will hold a Business Degree (Finance / Accountancy, or other relevant subject), or equivalent and at least 3 years of financial planning & analysis experience with responsibility the accounting for complex projects.


You will also have previous experience of cost control and Specialist cost collection, reconciliation & forecast, with expert financial planning and analysis knowledge specifically in the field of project accounting / programme management.


You will also be able to communicate at all levels, have strong business analytical skills and excellent relationship building with the ability to overcome objections and with the energy and desire to happily get your hands dirty, so to speak and really understand the business.


What else do I need to know?
This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
