Business Process Analyst - Master Data, Oracle DRM, SAP Master Data, Reporting

Location: Central London

Duration: 3 Months

Role Summary:

The Business Process Analyst will sit within the Business Intelligence Master Data function and will be required to improve the governance, routine maintenance and change control around Master Data.

The required outputs will be:

  • Full Inventory of all Master Data deployed in TROVE (Reporting Solution) and where it is sourced from (SAP, Workforce, Hyperion Planning).
  • A mechanism to refresh the full inventory on-demand from the Oracle DRM master data management solution
  • Task analysis of the routine actions carried out to refresh the Master Data from its various sources
  • The creation of a 'Master Data Only' TROVE database so that Master Data updates can be reviewed in pre-production prior to release into Production
  • A run book containing the steps of the routine actions and the refresh of the TROVE pre-production and Production environments. This should be produced to enable us to review the steps and generate a script to automate as many of the steps as possible.
  • A roadmap to using one set of Master Data for all key reporting systems - starting with TROVE and Hyperion, then extending to SAP,
  • Full inventory of all the reporting attributes used by DRM and how they are derived where they are formula or lookup driven.
  • Change Request templates for any changes to TROVE Master Data, particularly Product, Location, Version, Source.
  • Governance document covering the policies and timetabling of Change Requests.

Technical /Professional Skills and Competencies:

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data to facilitate reporting and modelling
  • Expertise in reporting Master Data especially building hierarchies and the attribute settings attaching to Master Data enabling multi-dimensional reporting
  • Using a Master Data management tool - ideally Oracle DRM
  • Analysing business processes and identifying areas for improvement and potential automation
  • High quality analytical output - the documentation has to be well designed and achieve the goal of clarifying the purpose of the Master Data or Process as concisely and clearly as possible

Desirable skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate how changes in Master Data and/or changes in business processes can bring benefits to the BI solution
  • Being able to train colleagues in using and maintaining Master Data and processes

Education/ Certifications:

  • Likely to be educated to degree level and potentially with a professional accounting qualification or accreditation in Business Analysis.
