Business Operations & Excellence Manager - Pharmaceuticals

Full or part- time (minimum 3 days per week)

3 months Contract - potential to be extended or turn into a permanent role

Location: Oxford

Pay Rate: £48 per hour

Business Operations & Excellence Manager - this exciting opportunity has just become available with a global leading pharmaceutical company with outstanding reputation in industry.

In this role, you will act as an independent internal consultant across assigned areas of the business to support and challenge business decisions with robust information analysis. You will be guiding, informing and influencing strategic decisions relating to marketing strategy and tactics, and you need to be able to lead without authority to influence changes in strategic direction.


  • Strategic decision making support, influencing brand strategy through active participation in the leadership team. Operates as a strategic business partner to the franchise.
  • Manages analyses of internal and external data and market research in order to provide insight into patient pathways, customer perceptions, behaviours and outcomes
  • Brand analytics, performance monitoring and forecasting - works with key stakeholders to effectively define strategic questions and problems and ensure that analytics and research address key brand
  • Leader/ project manager for primary and secondary research from multiple sources, distilling key insights to provide aligned and consistent view of the market
  • Works with brand leadership to build market research plans that are aligned to current and future corporate and brand objectives. Deliver on agreed budgets and phasing of the annual MR plans.
  • Sales force effectiveness and analytics - Design and deliver sales and activity reports to the sales teams and sales management as part of the monthly reporting cycle
  • Lead and manage the sales force target setting process - advise on and set parameters for the incentive scheme


  • Demonstrable primary market research experience.
  • Degree level qualification in a life science, business or other quantitative discipline
  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills
  • Experienced in business intelligence, market analysis and market research
  • Experience in the pharma / bio-pharma / healthcare industry and willingness to learn and understand the relevant therapy areas
  • Good mapping knowledge, experience of resourcing roadmaps, bonus schemes (focus & parameters, targets, payments), territory redesign, KAM/ account plans, activity reporting
