This global organisation are the leading source of information and mass media insights, providing intelligent information to businesses and professionals worldwide. They are looking to hire Business Development Specialist to support their news and media division, which is the world's largest international multimedia news provider, reaching more than one billion people every day.

You will be accountable for promoting and developing the organisation's customer offering. Customers include broadcasters, print and digital publishers, corporations and governments which purchase multi-media news solutions to reach their audiences.

The role is 25% managing existing accounts and 75% supporting the New Business Sales Manager to find new business from mainly non-media clients. It requires a passion for current affairs and an entrepreneurial attitude.

About your new role

Key duties will include:

  • Manage a number of existing accounts (broadcasters and publishers) and develop new business opportunities (mainly in new sectors)
  • Secure new sales opportunities and partnerships that meet financial targets and support priority areas for growth
  • Qualify potential business opportunities through independent research
  • Build pipeline by working with New Business Director to actively prospect new clients
  • To be accountable for a fixed amount of existing and new business annually
  • Responsible for all stages of an opportunity - from lead generation to sales close

About you

  • Proven experience in a client focused role
  • Experience in the news / media industry is highly desirable
  • Experience of research, data collection, analysis of information from different sources and report writing
  • Bachelor's degree qualified or equivalent
