Business Analyst - Technology

Location: West Lothian

We are actively looking to secure an experienced Technology Business Analyst to join Experis as one of our expert consultants, delivering services to our clients.

Role Description

The Business Analyst will work as part of the IT project team and act as the conduit between our Clients business Stakeholders and the scrum team, to ensure the business requirements are comprehensively understood in order to produce a viable technology solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise about our systems and processes to varied parties throughout the business and technology areas
  • Works with stakeholders to understand business issues, challenges and requirements
  • Builds strong relationships with our external stakeholders
  • Facilitate workshops to elicit requirements from stakeholders and evaluate solution options in collaboration with Solution Architects, Technical Analysts and Developers
  • Present functional solution options and/ or showcases to stakeholders and run Q&A sessions with both business and technology stakeholders
  • Acting as the expert for a project, ensuring that business objectives are considered and requirements are met throughout the lifecycle of that project
  • Liaise with other delivery teams within the business to ensure key dependencies are identified, managed, solutions agreed and communicated to stakeholders as appropriate
  • Deliver the project using our Agile processes, working collaboratively with other teams in our department, including development, testing and support teams
  • Supports continuous improvement, identifying ways to improve overall ways of working, to support the implementation of changes / improvements to working practice and to support adherence to processes designed to improve ways of working.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Proven business or systems analysis experience working across a variety of different sized projects with the ability to juggle and manage a varied workload
  • Facilitation experience with the ability to run successful workshops from which structured outputs/artefacts can be created in line with agreed workshop objectives
  • Experience of projects in a demanding environment, ideally involving enterprise systems such as CRM, billing, telephony, supply chain management
  • Excellent at requirement gathering using various methods and styles to suit the business needs coupled with a strong technical awareness to be able to communicate to both technical and non-technical parties
  • Excellent requirements specification skills with attention to detail being paramount
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationship at all levels
  • Awareness of both traditional waterfall and agile methodologies and the ability to use both styles to deliver projects depending on their needs
  • Experience of the full system development lifecycle stages and processes
