As a Business Analyst, you will have the ability to make a significant impact to the organisation by supporting the growth strategy and competitive positioning of the business unit.

You will lead the analysis of business requirements and demands across the business value chain, providing key analytical skills that will enable business problems to be understood and the subsequent requirements for IT systems documented, tested and delivered. Project types can range from system selection and replacement of legacy systems including data migration, development of bespoke systems or complex upgrades of existing systems.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop a partnership with assigned business units in order to gain a thorough understanding of short and long term goals of the business strategy in order to deliver quality and strategic solutions to the business clients that support business strategy
  • Analyse business demand for IT system support, automation and digitalisation of business processes
  • Derive system requirements from business demands and translate into specifications - both on architectural and detail level
  • Identification of appropriate solutions under the guidance of enterprise and solution architecture and subject matter experts. Follow Munich Re architecture patterns.
  • Actively drive towards a consistent, highly automated, resilient and future proof application and data landscape to enable cost efficient digital business.
  • Coordination of feasibility studies, production of business cases, assessment of options and presentation of recommendations

Experience required:

  • Experience working within the insurance sector (preferably life & health)
  • Demonstrable experience in analysis of business demands, deriving of system requirements and translating into system solutions
  • First experience in building an enterprise systems and data architecture
  • Demonstrated multidisciplinary communications skills particularly with business stake holders (end user and management levels)
  • Strong analytical, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business, resulting in measurable business outcomes
  • Demonstrable experience of using use cases, UML, user stories
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile project management methodologies e.g. Prince 2 or PMI, Scrum.
  • Demonstrable experience on 'As is' and 'to be' process modelling.
  • Significant business analysis demonstrable experience.


  • Company/London Market (re)insurance experience with a good knowledge of products and markets
  • Qualifications and experience of one or more industry recognised best practise project management delivery methodologies i.e. PMP, PRINCE 2-certified, Agile methodologies
  • Proven experience in Agile software development and lifecycle methodologies
  • CII qualifications
