Business Analyst - Joining a new team you will have the opportunity to shape the Business Analysis processes and ways of working. Historically the environment has been and remains waterfall but the team are keen to adopt Agile working practices, so if you have an Agile background this is a great opportunity to bring out your skills!


  • As the Business Analyst (BA) you will undertake essential requirements and information/data gathering on project proposals submitted within the IT Team.
  • Perform detailed to high level analysis on data to quantify the project deliverables and objectives to ensure these are agreed by and clear to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects which are proposed are underwritten by clear achievable deliverables and objectives, and support the development of robust business cases.
  • Where necessary, perform detailed systems specification and design for the development of IT application solutions to support the business and/or IT.

Key Skills

  • Background of working in IT delivery projects
  • Knowledge of the ITIL environment and process
  • Knowledge of ITIL and Project Management methodologies (APM/Prince 2 or similar)
  • Ability to problem solve complex technical and project issues
  • Detailed knowledge of corporate data standards
  • Good analytical and numerical skills and ability to challenge preconceptions
  • Aptitude for managing large quantities of data but also demonstrable experience in finding the 'so what' and business context.
  • Self-motivated, able to plan and schedule own work in a set time horizon
  • Experienced in use of tools used to support requirements and testing, such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server, HP ALM, Jira
  • Wide understanding of software development life cycle and approaches (including Agile)
