Business Analyst (Operations Readiness)

Duration: 3 months + extensions

PAYE or Umbrella only

Location: Cardiff or London (as per contractor preference)

What you'll be doing:

  • Assist with the development of business requirements that encompass the functional areas for Operations and the corresponding user applications/systems.
  • Obtain and incorporate feedback from Leaders within Operations for initiatives that are being implemented to develop and enhance processes.
  • Provide information to the functional areas within Operations to facilitate the completion of tasks related to changes that have operational implications.
  • Provide operational teams with the necessary details and oversight to produce forecasting, training, procedures, communications, testing and reporting related to planned and unplanned changes.
  • Assist with proactively identifying, documenting and developing plans to mitigate operational risks related to projects. Also work with the relevant stakeholders to create contingency plans for projects at risk.
  • Ensure communication occurs through all operational changes with the responsible parties.
  • Perform post-production quantitative and qualitative analysis following the implementation of changes.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree and/ or equivalent work experience
    3+ years of experience working in operations preferred
    2+ years' experience supporting projects preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. This individual will communicate with various levels of individuals cross-functionally. Confident in senior stakeholder management and influencing; strong presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker: able to make connections between corporate strategy and program priorities; understand linkages between projects and explain strategic context. Able to start from white space and structure, execute and present ideas
  • Strong demonstrated analytical skills and experience with proven track record of delivering appropriate depth of analysis in a fast-paced environment. Experienced problem-solver, comfortable with decision making in a complex environment: managing trade-offs, ambiguity and competing priorities
